Eccles Students' Success In National Maths Challenge
03 February 2010
Each year the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) run national challenges to find the best young mathematicians in the country. The Senior Challenge is open to 16-19 year olds studying Mathematics and involves answering 25 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes.
This year, Eccles students Luke Monaghan and Sam Hayman have come out on top and received Bronze and Silver awards from the UKMT. This means that, out of 91,962 entries across the country, Luke and Sam results were in the top 40%.
This is a great achievement for the students and especially for Sam, who also received a Best in College award.
