UPDATED: Andy Crane Joins Awards Celebrations At Salford City College
17 December 2009
The 2009 Awards Evening at Salford City College, Eccles Centre took place on Wednesday 16th December and was a huge success. Students now studying at university or pursuing their chosen careers turned out to receive their special awards and certificates and were proudly supported by family and friends.
Special guest speaker for the evening was former student of Eccles College, Andy Crane. Andy presented students with their prizes and gave a very inspiring address, recalling his time at the college from 1981-83. Andy commented on how students can determine what makes them a successful learner, saying “Regardless of academic achievements or accomplishments in your working life, if you fulfil your potential and achieve your goals – that is the measure of your success.”
Roles were reversed for the Channel M and BBC Radio Manchester presenter after the event, as students from the college had the chance to do their own interview with Andy. Students currently studying on the Diploma in Creative and Media posed questions to the presenter on his 26 years in the media and the experiences he has had.
The evening also included some special musical performances from the Eccles Centre Funk Band and guests were invited for coffee and mince pies with the award winners and their tutors at the end of this very special evening.
