College Swimmers Compete For National Recognition
12 November 2009
The girls swimming team from Salford City College's Eccles and Pendleton Centres have shown excellent promise at the recent divisional team championships of the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA).
Bethany Saunders, Katrina Alder, Becky Faulkner and Kim Rumbelow came first in both the medley relay and freestyle relay in the regional heat, beating local competition from the equally proficient teams from Winstanley College and Holy Cross, amongst others.
The National Finals take place in February 2010 and the girls now have to wait to find out if the times they achieved were within the 16 fastest in the country, for entry into the finals.
The team did an excellent job and are now back in training, in preparation for future competitions.
