Key103 Trains Budding Media Hopefuls
28 October 2009
Students studying on the Diploma in Creative and Media at the Eccles Centre have been learning tricks of the radio trade from radio industry professionals at Key103.
In October, first year students on the Diploma took a trip to the Key103 studios in Castlefield to learn what it takes to produce radio advertisements and programmes and had a chance to try it for themselves. Second years were then visited by the Key103 bus at the Eccles Centre, to produce their own podcasts which will be used for the sound editting unit of their course.
Iain Goodyear, Media Tutor at the Eccles Centre, said "These visits were hugely beneficial to the students, allowing them to gain a valuable insight into working practises of the media industry."
This is one of many links with local radio that have been established across Salford City College media departments, other students having also recently worked with professionals from the BBC and Salford City Radio.
