Outstanding results from Salford City College Students
01 August 2009
Students at Salford City College (Eccles and Pendleton Centres) have excelled, achieving fantastic results for 2009. With an overall A-Level pass rate of 99%, students have given themselves and their tutors a lot to be proud of.
In addition, 30 out of 42 A-Level subjects gained a 100% pass rate from over 1900 A-Level entries, four students have also accepted places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities.
Vocational course results at the college centres are also being celebrated. Every advanced vocational subject, the equivalent of A-Levels, gained a 100% pass rate. This is a fantastic record for the new college and a great achievement in the history of the individual centres.
Peter Crompton, Principal, proudly stated "I am delighted with our students’ achievements. They are a result of the hard work and determination from the students and the commitment and dedicated support of the staff. These are the first A-Level results for the new Salford City College and are a great start for our record of success. Both Eccles College and Pendleton College had an excellent track record for fantastic results year on year, and this year is no exception. I would like to congratulate all the students and I wish them well in their next step to university or in starting their working life.
We are confident that we will continue to enable students to achieve their full potential and are excited about the prospects of the new 'Walkden Sixth Form College’, which will be established next to our Worsley Centre from September 2010.
