Eccles Student Wins Aimhigher Award

Salford City College, Eccles Sixth Form Centre student, Hussein Sharif, has been awarded at the prestigious Aimhigher Greater Manchester Awards 2010.

Hussein was nominated by his Aimhigher tutor at the Eccles Sixth Form Centre for the Special Achievers' award, which is given to learners who have achieved great success despite adverse circumstances.

Hussein came to England from Somalia at the age of 12, speaking very little English. During his time at the Eccles Sixth Form Centre he has made fantastic progress and is hoping to start a Pharmacy course at university in September.

The Award was presented to Hussein by Manchester-born Olympic medallist Darren Campbell.
