Foundation Football Team Success

Students studying on Foundation Level courses at Salford City College, Eccles Sixth Form Centre join together each year to create a football team for the department.

The team play throughout the year, as part of their enrichment activities, and enter competitions whenever they can. Recently they entered the National Disability Football Summer Festivals with two teams and had great success.

The Premier team were runners-up in their competition, whilst the Championship team won against all the teams in their league and were crowned the champions.

Neil Hall, Foundation Tutor at Eccles Sixth Form Centre, said of the students' efforts, "The students did the college proud. The success of both teams is a culmination of the hard work and dedication of both students and staff. Achieving success in a national tournament shows the excellent standard the players work to."
